The Eureka vacuum company has came out with many products to try to keep this world a cleaner space for personal living. The company has engineered a small vacuum that is great for cleaning cars, couches, and any other hard to reach places. The boss corded vacuum is actually only made of a few key components. The body of the vacuum is only two main part. The handle side and the cone like shaped end to such the dirt and dust up. These two pieces and made by injection molding. Basically a negative mold is made out of metal that can take the heat and melted liquid plastic is pumped into the molds. After it is cooled, the molds are split apart and the two vacuum parts are ready to hold the internal components of the vacuum. The inside of the vacuum is relatively simple. A small 120 volt alternating current motor, which rests inside the two plastic external pieces, is plugged into a standard wall outlet. This motor has a 8 cm fan with 6 blades attached. The fan spins at 3600 rpm. The fan and blades are also made with injection molding like as discussed above. The motor on the other hand is made by a long thin copper wire wrapped around in a circle like cylinder shape. The copper cylinder is put in between two permanent magnets and when a current flows through the copper wire, a electromagnetic field is made. This counteracts with the two permanent magnets and causes the poles to to reserve at a very fast rate. The copper wire, which has a magnetic metal cover, starts to spin. This is attached to the fan which causes the fan to spin. The fan spinning cause a negative air pressure in the body of the vacuum cleaner and the higher atmospheric pressure causes a "vacuum" effect up inside the vacuum clearer. A mesh like bag covers the fan trapping all the dirt and dust. Only a few small screws hold all the parts together and an easy to use small witch, turns the power on and off. Every plastic part is made of recyclable material and some color additives. Almost every single part can be recycled and turned into a new product or a new vacuum cleaner. This make the impact on the environment as minimal as possible. But still, with the vacuum well built and easy on the environment, the product could be improved. This can be done by adding a larger fan and a more power motor. But that will cause a negative effect on the electricity used and cost would increase. The company made a smart choice by not going that route. I believe the Eureka vacuum is a great small little vacuum that will clean up dirt and dust for many years to come.
